The General Carbon Corporation makes several different grades of impregnated activated carbon for those special applications where either standard non-treated carbon does not work or where activated carbon's adsorptive capacity can be greatly enhanced through impregnation.

The desulphurisation of gases and the removal of all acidic contaminants such as hydrogen sulfide, hydrogen chloride and mercaptans. |
| GC IPH PLUS | Superior H2S adsorptive capacity provides longer carbon bed life and lower overall operating costs than standard impregnated carbons. |
| GC IPI | The removal of hydrogen sulfide and all other acidic contaminants. |
| GC IPA | The removal of ammonia. |
| GC II | The removal of radioactive methyl iodide from nuclear fission products. |
| GC IPP | The removal of formaldehyde. |
| GC IT | The removal of radiation in nuclear testing. |
| GC IPSp or GC IPSg | The removal of mercury. |
