
The activated carbon filters shall be of the size and quality as indicated on the plans.
The filter casing or cell sides shall be of 14 gauge steel to permit stacking the filters one on top of the other like building blocks to form a bank. The filters shall be bolted together and caulked. The casing shall contain removable, refillable trays fabricated of perforated CRS to contain the activated carbon.
A one piece removable grid shall be provided for easy access to the trays. The grid shall be gasketed to prevent air by-pass.
The activated carbon shall have a carbon tetrachloride activity rating of 50%.

Caution!
Wet activated carbon removes oxygen from air causing a severe hazard to workers inside carbon vessels. Confined space/low oxygen procedures should be put in place before any entry is made. Such procedures should comply with all applicable local, state and federal guidelines.
